WELCOME TO CAMERATEK
John and Brenda's son's, Greg and Warren, bought the business from their parents during 2009 and 2010. During the period from taking takeover up to 2020, Camera Tek repaired Canon photo and video products, Pentax photo and optical products, Samsung photographic gear and cellphones and a wide range of binoculars. All the while showing a strong emphasis on growing their retail and rental divisions.
In March 2020, Camera Tek moved to new premises in Strijdom Park alongside the highway for great exposure. During the next 2 years Camera Tek survived the onslaught of Covid 19 and continued growing their retail and rental divisions. In July 2023 Camera Tek sold their Canon workshop back to Canon SA and refocused the business to work on growing the retail (physical brick and mortar in Durban and Strijdom Park) together with the Online presence while also focusing on growing the rentals division.
Camera Tek now maintains a small workshop which offer minor services to most makes of gear while still assisting customers in getting their gear to the correct repair centre for repairs or servicing if so required.
In August 2023 Camera Tek opened a new photographic studio which is available to hire in carious forms. Camera Tek continues to focus on growth areas of their retail and rentals divisions adapting to everchanging landscape.
